Achieving financial independence: Moolah Matters Program

We believe that everyone can achieve financial independence with the right mindset, tools, and guidance.

That’s why we’ve created an exclusive program to help NDIS participants aged 16 to 25.

Our Moolah Matters program empowers young adults to take control of their finances and secure a brighter financial future.

Let’s look at this progra
m in more detail…

What is the Moolah Matters program?

Managing money can be overwhelming and confusing, especially for young adults.

The Moolah Matters program is designed to inspire participants to live a life of independence, confidence, and empowerment.

We cover a wide range of topics including:

  • Assets and liabilities
  • Needs and wants
  • Cash flow
  • How to access online banking
  • Debit/credits cards
  • Credit ratings
  • Avoiding scams.

Our program is unique and developed over time. Starting in 2020 with a small group of participants we have refined the content and delivery, to provide a personalised learning experience that allows them to learn at their own pace.

We provide a safe and supportive environment to learn and ask questions.

Who is the program for?

This program is available to self-managed, plan-managed, and agency-managed NDIS participants.

It’s the right stepping stone for those who are:

  • Motivated to be financially independent and have support around them.
  • Living independently or have a goal to be in the future.
  • Willing to take personal responsibility.
  • Ready to make hard decisions about their finances to reach their goals.

When participants complete the program, they leave feeling confident to make decisions about their money and plan for their future.

How does it work?

Moolah Matters is offered online nationally and face-to-face locally in Darwin.

If you’re a local participant, you can join us at our dedicated Program Hub in Berrimah where we run two face-to-face groups parallel to each other. These group sessions run for eight weeks each school term starting in week 2.

The course has eight different modules, including the fun Cashflow game to put into practice all the key learnings.

During the final week of our face-to-face, we get together to have fun and celebrate the completion of the program.

After the celebrations, we provide each participant with a certificate of completion. This is a great way to recognise their efforts and accomplishments.

For our online participants we include a 1 hour session with one of our dedicated Moolah Matters coaches and also will be recognised with a certificate at the end of the course.

Success stories

Our program has helped countless young adults gain confidence to take control of their finances.

We have seen participants grow in financial literacy and stability. Many have become financially independent and have started to build up their savings and investments.

It’s incredibly rewarding to witness their journey to financial security.
